Waterfront Academy Opens its Doors in June

After a few hiccups, Waterfront Academy has found a new home at Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle Church, located at 60 I Street and will begin classes this fall. The school tried unsuccessfully to open last fall on South Capitol Street, but offered “Mamá y Yo” classes at The Hill Center in Capitol Hill. Waterfront Academy is a dual immersion (Spanish and English) Montessori school with emphasis on charity and stewardship in the Catholic tradition. Rebecca Shakleford, formerly with DCPS, serves as Head of School. There will be five open houses in June:
June 9: 10am – 12pm
June 11: 5:30pm – 7:30pm
June 21: 12pm – 2pm
June 23: 10am – 12pm
June 26: 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Waterfront Academy is currently accepting applications for both Primary (ages 3-6) and Lower Elementary (ages 6-9) students. Deadline for school year applications is Monday, June 30. Spanish Immersion Summer Camp is also being offered from July 28 - August 22. Learn more about Waterfront Academy and send in applications online.
