FRESHFARM Market Opens Today!

This is a reminder that the FRESHFARM Market at the Health & Human Services building at 200 Independence Avenue debuts today from 2:30pm-6:30pm. It will be open every Wednesday until October 27th. Local farmers and producers include: Blades Orchard, DiBonaventure Bakery, Down to Earth Farm, Evensong Farm, Firefly Farm, Floradise Orchids, LynnVale Studios, Springfield Farm of Kent County, Three Springs Fruit Farm and more. Also, EBT/Food Stamps can be redeemed at the information table for fresh and healthy foods at the HHS market.

yes, they do. In fact, the HHS market is one of 3 freshfarm markets in the city (the other two are the white house one and the H St. one) that are doing a "double dollars" program. Food stamp recipients can swipe their EBT card and for a $10 charge, can get $20 worth of tokens to spend on food at the market.
