Scenes from Southwest: Starbucks

Clockwise (from upper left): (1) Ground level of the U.S. Small Business Administration building at the corner of 3rd & D Street. (2) Inside the Capital Gallery building on the 600 block of Maryland Avenue. (3) Ground level of the Phase III building at the Portals on Maryland Avenue. (4) Ground level of the Holiday Inn at the corner of 6th & C Street. A fifth Starbucks will open next year inside Safeway at Waterfront Station.

Aw, can't we get a Caribou or any other coffee shop? No offense, I'm just not a huge fan of Starbucks (and we've already got 4).

No offense taken :-) I think Starbucks is the standard coffee shop that Safeway uses in their new stores.

4 out of 5 of the Starbucks mentioned are north of 395/295, and only the one that does not exist yet is (or will be) really at a convenient location to anyone other than day time federal workers.

Anonymus,
I agree I'd like something other than a Starbucks, but to say that the new one is the only one that will be accessible to residents isn't exactly accurate. Residents of G St SW can access the one at 3rd & D St SW on Saturdays.

By the way, it would be great to have a Baja Fresh (or similar) amongst the new Waterfront retail options.
